Marketing & Events Committee - Call For Volunteers

In January 2017, during the first meeting of the NYNOG Board of Directors, a decision was made to develop a Marketing & Events Committee to support the growth and management of NYNOG's events and marketing activities.

I have agreed to and am thrilled to serve as Chair and am now seeking volunteers to continue with the important work of the committee.

If you are interested in getting involved with the NYNOG community, please consider volunteering your time and effort in support of these important NYNOG activities

To help guide you, please review the following committee expectations:

Events Logistics
Day of set-up and break down.
Research of local caterers, AV, and other services during the run of event.
Retrieval of supplies in advance of the event.
Registration desk support

Events Promotion
Digital marketing activities include updates to the NYNOG Website, Eventbrite, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn (general updates, event run of show highlights, including speakers, and sponsor coverage).
Partnerships and advertisements with local tech organizations.

Sponsorship Coordinator
On-boarding of sponsors, feedback and ongoing support.

Lead Generation & Email Management
Manage new leads and contacts into the database and build out communication campaigns in line with NYNOG’s events and communication activity

Volunteers will be responsible for the execution of items that end up being assigned. Volunteers must also attend monthly Committee calls as agreed upon by the majority of the Committee. Volunteers are expected to support half of the events that take place through the year.
