NYNOG Community Coordinator Role Responsibilities


The below is based upon a schedule of 4 events per year.

Registration:

  • Collect data regarding upcoming NYNOG events from the events committee and program committee. If data is not received on time, follow up with committees and escalate as needed.

  • Design email mailers for upcoming events

  • Send out emails to community prior to the event based upon predetermined schedule (i.e. 45 days, 30 days, 7 days, 1 day)

  • Keep board updated on registration status

  • Socialize event on Twitter, LinkedIn, FB, etc

Sponsorship Coordination:

  • Keep track of yearly sponsorship status in a shared sheet. Mark sponsors who’ve used sponsor benefits throughout the year.

  • Prior to upcoming NYNOG events, reach out to sponsors with benefits remaining and confirm if they’ll use them for upcoming events.

  • Coordinate sponsorship involvement with the events committee prior to events .

  • Coordinate non-event benefits to sponsors (ie social media posts) and ensure they’re provided.

Sponsorship Renewal

  • Assist with creating updated yearly sponsorship collateral

  • Reach out to existing sponsors at end of year to confirm sponsorship renewal

  • Keep track of renewals in shared sheet

  • Ensure sponsors sign renewal paperwork

  • Coordinate with treasurer to ensure payment received 

Organization Assistance

  • Participate in quarterly board meetings

  • Manage deadlines for internal and external requests

  • Manage 3rd party vendors & suppliers

  • Keep track of existing volunteers & committees

  • Author internal documents related to processes & procedures


Time commitment: 10-15 hours per month
